THE NEW KID ON THE BLOCK!

The impact of social media

This is a delayed post because I did not know which angle to take when writing about Mr Nyovest. At first I really did not get the hype around this new kid on the block ….Yes I have been hearing about him here and there but what is really interesting about him? I have seen the good and bad, the ups and downs of some local hip hop artist’s success stories and pitfalls but what is it about Cassper? Well stick around and read this post about Cassper Nyovest.

If it was not for social media we all would not really know this artists and what they get up to. Social media is the drug that gets us to engage and interacts with our favorite artists I mean we get to know their ins and out of their daily lives by clicking on the net at any particular time. As the net keeps evolving and playing a very important role in our lives, social networks in particular twitter has rapidly been the most effective way that Cassper has been using in spreading the word.

AKA and Cassper Nyovest
This 24 year old has had his share of online squabbles and spats with other hip hop artists; the likes of K.O and AKA .Many may say that social media has changed Cassper to the worst as the tweeter streets it’s where he boast and like creating beef. Social media beef is not cool hey I don’t care who does it even if you’re the minister of sport and recreation. I mean if you have a problem with someone why don’t you talk it out. But not Cassper he even dissed his opponents in one of his track “beef” I mean your way better than that man.

"Amanda wasn't tailored for me" !

Mmmmmmh did you hear? The cushy couple that was known to be the new power couple in Mzansi seem to have broken apart. It was Casspers performance during the #MMA14 that shocked a lot of people when he said "even Amanda Du Point wasn't tailored for me" that sure raised a lot of eyebrows. The twitter streets went buzzing after that performance. It shows how big of an influence social media is, he was trending in no time. Though I feel it was so unnecessary for him to say such I mean dude keep your private life private.
Cassper and Amanda

It is important that we as stakeholders understand the importance of social media in our lives. The good and the bad that it can do to one’s reputation. If you’re in the public eye it is very easy for people to twist your words and that’s where we come in as public relations practitioners, in setting up a good image for the person we are representing. Cassper needs a good PR team behind him so Cassper I suggest you hook up with me lol!!!!Check out Casspers video of the song "phuma kim"

  2. Indeed social media is a drug...great article Zee. I don't really like Hip Hop but I can tell you one thing, the Cassper and AKA saga had me really glued on my phone almost every second.I used to check Twitter for the latest updates about these two. They really took social media by storm and I believe it was solemnly to protect themselves as 'brands'.Hence, they were defending themselves and even went as far as involving their followers in all these 'beef' of theirs.

  4. I really love your blog it shows that that you have done research, in your content because basically facts speak for themselves in it and the way you used your tone in it ,your tone is perfectly tailor made for the blog and the way you displayed great insights in it

On the other hand please stay away from slang such as when you used the word hooke up and lol ,but I understand the target audience that you are targeting and Lastly I love the way you tied it up with the importance of PR and the usage of social media that's really good of you.

    1. I know hey and if he had a great public relations team behind him they would have advised him not to say such in public as it can damage his brand is some way.

  8. Great article, proper research on the topic. In the case of Cassper Nyovest., his influence on social media has done good for him and encouraged growth for himself as a brand. Maybe all the "beef" was the most important ingredient for his success.
